DAY 1 ZAGREB

Arrival in Zagreb and transfer to the hotel. On arrival enjoy a Welcome drink as you get to know your fellow tour guests. For food lovers this is also an opportunity to sample a plate of Štrukli, a local Zagreb specialty. Free time to relax and unwind or to explore the city on your own.

DAY 2 ZAGREB – OPATIJA

After breakfast join our professional English speaking guide for a walking tour of Zagreb. In the fortified medieval Upper Town you can visit St. Mark’s church, the government palace, and many other beautiful and outstanding buildings of interest that date back centuries. After our sightseeing excursion we head to Opatija (estimated driving time 2:30h). Opatija is situated in the picturesque and peaceful Kvarner Bay. It was also once the favourite spa resort of the Habsburgs and European aristocracy. Dinner and overnight in Opatija.

DAY 3 ISTRIA EXCURSION

Our tour heads to the beautiful Istrian peninsula after a leisurely breakfast. You will visit the ancient roman Colosseum, which is located in Pula, before heading to Rovinj. Considered to be the most beautiful city in Istria, Rovinj has been an inspiration for many artists throughout the centuries. You will have free time to discover the magic of Rovinj. Departure to Livade. Here you will have an opportunity to sample the local truffles. Overnight in Opatija.

DAY 4 OPATIJA – PLITVICE LAKES

After breakfast we depart Opatija to explore the oldest national park in Croatia. Plitvice Park boasts 16 lakes that are connected by magnificent waterfalls. The park is situated in the Lika mountain region. Besides exploring the stunning lakes you can also take a boat ride across the emerald green Kozjak lake, and a train ride back to the park entrance. Allow 3 hours to fully enjoy the splendour of the park. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Plitvice.

DAY 5 PLITVICE LAKES – ŠIBENIK – SPLIT

We drive down from the mountain region of Lika to enjoy coastal views along the way to Šibenik. The historic town boasts plenty of cultural and historical monuments and attractions, including the famous Cathedral of Šibenik (St. Jacobs). From Šibenik we continue our Croatia island hopping tour to the Bibich Winery, for a gourmet food and wine tasting experience. Sample the Dalmatian Debit white wine and Cuvee of Shiraz & Merlot with some authentic Croatian style nibbles. Departure to Split. Overnight in Split.

DAY 6 SPLIT & TROGIR Sightseeing

Split has a wealth of historical and cultural places of interest that are well worth a visit. After breakfast we explore the beautiful city and admire the famous Diocletian Palace, which was built at the turn of the 4th century. Departure for Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lunch today is a traditional Dalmatian dish – Pašticada. Trogir has an abundance of palaces, fortresses, churches and towers situated on a small island. This historical and cultural location is known as the floating museum. Overnight in Split.

DAY 7 SPLIT – STON – DUBROVNIK

On route to Dubrovnik, after breakfast, we stop close to the town of Ston. A visit to one of the local wineries offers an opportunity to taste the famous Plavac Mali wine. You will also see the traditional wine making process that has been passed down through the generations. The wine tasting experience includes a wine presentation, wine sampling and snacks. Departure from Ston and arrival in Dubrovnik. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

DAY 8 DUBROVNIK

The ancient city of Dubrovnik has remained unchanged and boasts an abundance of sightseeing opportunities. The city is surrounded by medieval ramparts and is under the watchful gaze of the city’s patron Saint Blaise (Vlaho). You can explore Dubrovnik’s rich heritage as you wander through the narrow streets and along the famous promenade known, as Stradun. Free evening to do as you please. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
