DAY 5 • WEDNESDAY SPLIT – OMIŠ- PUČIŠĆA (B,L)
After an on-board breakfast and peaceful morning sailing, you’ll arrive to the picturesque former pirate-stronghold of Omiš, where you’ll be guided through an enchanting collection of natural wonders – from the jagged peaks of the Cetina River Gorge to the pretty Mediterranean architecture of the town – which is protected by huge city walls and the stark peaks of the western range of the Dinara mountain.
After lunch – the ship will cruise onwards towards the village of Pučišća on the idyllic island of Brač. The town, which is set on a steep natural harbour, is beautiful – filled with white stone houses, ancient architecture and surrounded by lush nature that undulates over unspoilt hills through peaceful valleys and into gorgeous isolated coves.
Look out for the local white stone, which was used to build, amongst many other things, Split’s Diocletian’s Palace and the Parliament House in Vienna. The village is also home to Croatia’s only Stonemasonry School where students carve sculptures from the local stone with traditional tools that have been used in the village for centuries.
