After the independence of Croatia, the outside world rediscovered it, often referring to the island as the “Mediterranean as it once was.” Enjoy the tranquil beauty, including postcard-perfect beaches, and an exploration of Vis Town on your own, which hosts an outstanding archaeological museum, a fortress, and a Roman theatre.

The town of Bol is nearby if you’d rather fuel up with a cup of coffee as you watch the world go by.
