After stowing your bags, you meet a local guide for a tour of Dubrovnik’s historic centre which will allow you to learn the history behind the many medieval landmarks. Cruising gets underway this morning with departure for Slano, a traditional fortified village on the mainland. This is the gateway to another walled village, Ston, renowned for its shellfish, including oysters that are said to be some of the world’s best thanks to the high concentration of salt and minerals in the bay. Enjoy a tasting of the delicacies freshly harvested right from the sea at any oyster farm while learning more about them before we reboard the ship. With the evening reserved for the Captain’s Dinner, a multicourse feast with live music, you’ll want a little time to refresh and prepare.

There are two saltwater lakes in glorious shades of brilliant blues and greens that are ideal for a swim, or you can take a quick boat ride out to the islet in the middle of Great Lake to visit a 12th-century Benedictine monastery. Back on the ship we sail on to your next destination, Korcula. Anchoring near the fairytale-like Old Town, you’ll join our local guide near one of the gates for a tour through its narrow streets where you’ll see significant Venetian influence in the centuries-old buildings.

    DAY 6 Vis

    Vis town coastal

Cruising to one of the furthest inhabited islands from the mainland, Vis Island is often referred to as the “Mediterranean as it once was.” Thanks to its remote location as well as being closed off to visitors for 40 years while used as a strategic military base, it’s been largely unspoiled by tourism. We’ll anchor just outside of Vis Town so that you can enjoy the serene beauty and explore its many offerings which include an archaeological museum and a fortress. If you’ve got the energy, you can climb to the top and enjoy a drink while watching a spectacular sunset.

This morning we’ll depart for Bisevo Island, a short sail from Vis so that you can take a tour of the Blue Cave. You’ll enter in a smaller vessel that can get through the cave’s narrow entrance to witness the interior as it’s illuminated in a brilliant blue glow when the sun beams its rays through a crack in the roof. Please note that entry to the Blue Cave is subject to weather and sea conditions and therefore the entry fee of EUR20pp is payable on the day. Afterwards, we’ll make our way to sunny Hvar where you’ll visit a family-run winery for a tasting in the small town of Jelsa.

Brac Island is home to the quaint fishing village of Bol which sits near one of the most stunning beaches in Europe. It’s surrounded by enticing translucent blue waters on three sides, ideal for our swim stop. If you’d rather stay dry, enjoy a coffee in Bol while people-watching. Our next stop will be Trogir with its magnificent medieval Old Town. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s like an open-air museum with multiple landmarks to marvel at, including the Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral of St. Lawrence.

    DAY 9 Split

After we reach Split, the final destination of our cruise, you’ll join a local guide on a tour of the historic centre, much of which is covered by the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, which was constructed over the late 3rd and early 4th centuries. It holds some of the most well-preserved Roman buildings and monuments in the world. After exploring, you’ll enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. As many of those impressive structures now house shops, galleries, wine bars and restaurants, it’s the perfect time to shop and dine, perhaps followed by a stroll along the Riva seaside promenade.
