Greece

Day 1 – Saturday – Marina Zeas (Piraeus) – Kea

You will be met by private taxi transfer from Athens airport or from your hotel and taken to the ship. Our 8-day Classical Greece cruise adventure begins with check in at Marina Zeas at approximately 2pm. Relax in your luxury cabin before the Welcome reception where you will get to meet all your fellow guests, the captain and crew.

After dinner, enjoy free time exploring Korrisia, the charming tiny port of Kea. At a sea-front taverna you can relax over a drink and watch the water glistening on the crystal-clear sea. On your return to the ship we set sail for Delos and overnight at sea.

Greece

Day 2 – Sunday – Delos – Mykonos

After a delicious breakfast on board, take our optional English-speaking guided tour to the unique archaeological site of Delos. The Cyclades archipelago uninhabited island is considered to be antiquity’s most sacred island. Explore the island’s ancient ruins, including a port, markets, houses and religious temples.

We continue to the port of Tourlos in Mykonos, with a swim stop during the journey. You have a free afternoon and we recommend a visit to the iconic windmills.  At night,  discover the island’s cosmopolitan heart and for those with energy, enjoy a cocktail in one of the trendy bars, whilst watching the world go by.

Santorini Greece

Day 3 – Monday – Santorini

Enjoy a free morning relaxing and taking in the sun rays on the sundeck of the ship, before we arrive at the beautiful island of Santorini, with dramatic panoramic views. The island’s rugged landscape is the result of a volcanic eruption in the 16th century. Take a stroll around the delightful villages of Fira and Oia with stunning views out to sea.

Join our optional tour to the local archaeological sites and the enchanting traditional villages that will instantly transport you to another era. Explore the towns’ whitewashed houses that cling to the cliffs and create a unique stunning sculpture. Enjoy some of the world’s most stunning sunsets.

Rethymnon Greece

Day 4 – Tuesday – Rethymnon (Crete)

In the morning we arrive at Crete’s famous bustling city port of Rethymnon, on the north coast. Explore the Old Town and the charming Venetian harbour that is literally brimming with traditional fishing boats and colourful tavernas. Our optional guided tour visits the ancient city of Knossos, near Heraklion.

Crete’s largest Bronze Age archaeological site is also Europe’s oldest, dating to the Neolithic period. Explore the ancient settlement and the ceremonial palace of Knossos that were associated with the Minoans. We will also visit an excellent archaeological museum. Late departure for Kythira.

 

Kythira Greece

DAY 5 – Wednesday - Kythira

Enjoy some leisure time and a swim stop before we arrive at Kythira in the afternoon. The idyllic island is situated in the tip of the Peloponnese peninsula, and boasts fabulous sandy beaches, cascading waterfalls and hidden gorges and valleys. Its remote location makes it the perfect ‘off-the-beaten-track’ destination. This will be followed by an evening visit to the picturesque main town of Chora.

This ancient settlement is dominated by a Venetian castle and preserved ruins, and boasts breathtaking hilltop views of Filoti bay and Kapsali. You can shop for souvenirs in the quaint alleys and dine along the waterfront.

 

Monemvasia, Nafplion, Greece

Day 6 – Thursday - Monemvasia – Nafplion

Discover the remarkable medieval fortified town of Monemvasia. This intriguing town is carved on the side of an elevated, huge sea rock that is protected from view. Explore the preserved Byzantine and Venetian architecture in its unspoiled natural setting. In the afternoon we sail for Nafplion, with a swim stop en route.

The mainland seaside town of Nafplion is home to distinctive period architecture, medieval fortifications, a charming Old Town and a long stretch of sandy beach. For an authentic Greek experience, visit the family run restaurant for a delicious meal.

Nafplion, Greece

Day 7 – Friday – Nafplion – Hydra or Spetses

Join our optional morning tour to the archaeological site of Mycenae and the imposing walled palace of Agamemnon. The fortified citadel is one of the most impressive historic sites in Greece. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is an remarkable monumental ruin of two great Mycenaean cities.

In the afternoon we sail for the island of Hydra (or Spetses). Enjoy a free evening exploring the car-free picturesque port town that is situated on the slopes of a hill. Explore the intimate coves and beaches, or relax with a drink and admire the wonderful views.

Marina Zeas (Athens)

Day 8 – Saturday – Marina Zeas (Athens)

We depart early for Marina Zeas, near Athens. On arrival, enjoy your final breakfast and bid farewell to your fellow passengers and crew before disembarkation. We have arranged a private taxi transfer to your hotel in Athens or to the airport for your return flight, after a memorable southern Greek Island Luxury Cruise.
