Where streets should be, Venice has its famous canals including the Grand Canal with its shimmering waters, a photographer’s dream. What was once a once a wealthy trade centre between Europe and the East, is now a mixture of palaces and churches which reflect centuries of history. Getting lost in Venice’s narrow alleys is as much a part of exploring this wonderful city, as is enjoying an expresso or delicious ice cream from a Gelateria on the Piazza San Marco. Enjoy one of the cafes, that offer the rich aroma of fresh coffee, around the 118 connected islands that create the single city of Venice.

Day 2 Venice – Private Walking Tour

Discover the hidden gems of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Venice on an action-packed private walking tour where you will explore its narrow streets and cross some of the 400 wonderful bridges. Our experienced local guide will enlighten you with stories of local secrets as you visit a variety of iconic sites such as St. Mark’s Square, the Grand Canal and Doge’s Palace. You will also have the opportunity to discover Venice’s rich art scene and admire the beautiful architecture including lavish palaces, churches and towers above the narrow canals and rippling waters of the Venetian Lagoon. The opulent palace of Ca d’Oro offers a perfect example of Venetian Gothic architecture. Take a stroll through the postcard-pretty cobbled streets and admire the colourful facades of the local buildings. Visit the hilltop church of St Euphemia to view the lofty steeple that dominates the skyline, and the pebble beaches of Lone Bay. Enjoy a traditional local meal whilst admiring the exquisite views. This area is irresistibly photogenic.
