Stroll the limestone-paved streets to marvel at landmarks in the historic centre, including the 16th-century Renaissance Sponza Palace, 15th-century Onofrio Fountain and more before returning to the ship in time to prepare for this evening’s Welcome Dinner. It starts with introductions and an overview of the journey ahead followed by a multicourse meal.

Continuing to Slano on the mainland, a short walk brings us to Ston, famous for its shellfish, including oysters. Enjoy a unique oyster-tasting experience with the oysters harvested fresh from the sea and complemented with local wine. After returning to the ship, you’ll want to prepare for the Captain’s Dinner hosted on board tonight, a fabulous feast with live music.

From here, continue to Korcula a densely forested island known as the birthplace of international explorer Marco Polo. Our local guide will meet you at the gate of the storybook-like walled Old Town for a walking tour. You’ll notice significant Venetian influence while strolling the narrow streets that were laid out in a fishbone pattern to help protect residents from the elements.

    DAY 4 Vis

    Vis town coastal

Cruising on toward Vis after breakfast, enjoy a swim en-route. This is one of the furthest islands from the Croatia coast and as it was off-limits to the public while used as a strategic military base for 40 years, it’s largely undeveloped. We’ll anchor at the north side of the island near Vis Town so you can stroll the fabulous waterfront and wander the charming streets. The archaeological museum is a must-visit and there are also ancient ruins that can be explored. By heading to the top of Fort George, you can enjoy a glass of wine and an awe-inspiring view, including colourful sunsets.

Please note that entry to the Blue Cave is subject to weather and sea conditions and therefore the entry fee of EUR20pp is payable on the day. Upon arrival to Hvar, travel into the rolling hills of Jelsa for a memorable wine tasting at a family-run winery. It’s perfect for a swim, but if you prefer, you can grab a coffee and watch the world go by in charming Bol. Once in Trogir, a guided walking tour will bring the medieval town to life. Like an open-air museum, you’ll be mesmerized by everything from the 13th-century Cathedral of St. Lawrence to the 15th-century Kamerlengo Castle/fortress.

Upon our arrival, you’ll take a walking tour of the historic centre, nearly half of which is covered by the massive Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace. Your local guide will reveal the stories behind the buildings that include some of the world’s most well-preserved Roman architecture. After touring, you’ll have the rest of the day at leisure, perhaps exploring some of the shops and galleries in the Roman complex followed by a celebratory gourmet dinner and a stroll along the Riva seaside promenade.
