Kim and I had a great time in Croatia – it was our first visit but will not be our last, particularly the islands – we absolutely loved Bol and Korcula; Zavreb, Cavtat and other areas that we haven’t yet seen but wish to go back and explore. We really were captivated by the country, both the sights and people plus we found the facilities such as hotels, roads, airports, harbours etc to be first class. The island cruise was excellent – the captain and crew great, especially the former’s itinerary and schedule flexibility to ensure the guests had the best weather possible during the cruise. Plus of course, one has to mention the cruise director – a very special person who did so much to really make the cruise for us all.
One area though I really do want to emphasise is the service provided by Unforgettable Croatia. Many tour operators can put together a first class holiday package, which is certainly what Unforgettable Croatia did. However what “sorts the wheat from the chaff” and is evidence of a first class operator, is how they react when something goes wrong. Unfortunately on our trip a number of problems did arise.
Unforgettable Croatia’s responses to these problems were exceptional and very much appreciated by both of us – on a number of occasions going above and beyond what could reasonably be expected. It turned what could have just been a good holiday into a very special one. Just one instance that comes to mind, though certainly not the most significant, being the taxi on the first night taking us from the hotel in Dubrovnik that couldn’t accommodate us, to our replacement upgraded hotel – we were asked to pay the taxi and then claim back the cost. However by the time the taxi arrived at its destination, some 10-15 minutes later, they had arranged for the concierge to come out and pay the taxi directly!! Superb service especially as this was being organised from London late on a Friday afternoon!!
