At Unforgettable Croatia, our vision is to create special travel experiences with a firm commitment to sustainability. We strengthen the positives that tourism brings and strive to find solutions to the challenges.
Unforgettable Croatia have now become one of the leading travel companies to Croatia, and despite this growth, we have always had our social responsibility and sustainable tourism aim imbedded into our business operations.
We create exceptional and unique travel experiences, whilst respecting cultures and people, promoting responsible economic development in our host countries and by keeping our environmental footprint to a minimum. We arrange intimate, alternative, eco-friendly travel itineraries, encouraging our clients to explore a destination to the maximum, away from mass-tourism.

Marine Conservation – Blue World Institute, Lošinj
As the Croatian coastline is blessed with crystal clear sea and some of the cleanest water in the world, sustainability and protecting the environment is vitally important to our team at Unforgettable Croatia. Over the years, we have found that many of our staff and guests have had interest in initiatives that protect marine life.
For this reason, we are pleased to announce a partnership with the ‘Blue World Institute of Marine Research and Conservation’ (BWI), based in Lošinj, which works to protect the marine environment in the Adriatic Sea.
This is a non-profit research centre responsible for dolphin, whale, shark, giant devil ray and sea turtle conservation efforts in Croatia.
The institution works from the Adriatic Islands of Losinj, Murter and Vis and collaborates regionally, nationally and internationally to advance sustainable marine management and environmental sustainability in the Mediterranean Basin.
We’re proud to donate a percentage of our annual profits to this worthwhile cause, and we work closely with the team at the Blue World Institute on various volunteer projects.
The Adriatic Dolphin Project
Initiated in 1987, the project is now the longest ongoing study of the bottlenose dolphin population in the Mediterranean Sea. Over the years The Blue World Institute is using a wide spectrum of research methods to increase scientific knowledge on the ecology of the Adriatic marine environment, and on the anthropogenic impact on ocean health. The Institute has expanded the scope of its research to include other species (notably loggerhead sea turtles and sharks.)
Marine Education Centre
The Losinj Marine Education Centre in Veli Losinj, Croatia was the first centre of its kind, since opening in 2003. Over the years, this centre with its activities and volunteers has hosted 100,000 visitors, 500 school groups and many organised tourist groups. Due to the popularity of this cause, the centre is now too small to host the rising numbers of visitors and in 2010, the Marine Institute presented a plan for a new building.
Unforgettable Croatia are delighted to be a partner in the sponsorship of the development of this centre and will be donating a percentage of our profits to this worthwhile cause. The primary aim of the centre is to aid the marine environment and its biodiversity and achieve excellence in research, education and conservation programme.
We are also inviting you to support the Blue World Institute by donating here.
Your donation will help The Blue World Institute to:
- Save dolphins, turtles and other marine animals
- Protect coastal and sea habitats
- Increase marine literacy
- Engage the public in conservation action
We would appreciate a contribution of any amount.
Thank you for your support.
